How do I figure out a charge on a company card?

An unrecognized charge on my Credit Card

I have a recurring charge on my credit card for $45 "MSFT*E0500KRRU1 8006427676 WA" that I dont recognize. I have a Business Standard 365 account and Visio Subscription which are paid by a different credit card. This charge started in July 2021. Please help

Treat it the same way you would treat any other suspicious charge to your card account: Contact the card issuer.

You know what you buy with your credit card. If you bought something from Microsoft, you would surely know about it.

So if you see a charge from 'Microsoft' on your credit account, and you didn't buy something from Microsoft, what does that tell you?

Could it be that a company that earns billions of dollars legitimately is trying to enrich itself $45 at a time? Or is it more likely that some scammer impersonating Microsoft is looking to see if they found a sucker?

Unfortunately for that scammer, you ain't nobody's sucker.

P.S. #1: Is it easy for a scammer to pretend they're Microsoft, and put a charge on your card account?

Very. Maybe next week they'll pretend to be Amazon or Home Depot.



P.S. #2: Where did the scammer get your credit card number?

There are millions of card numbers available for sale on the dark web. But a scammer won't know whether they can actually use that number until they try.

Unrecognized credit card charge. Need to speak to a person. Horrible customer support. This is no Apple.
