Windows 10: Unresponsive black screen in the morning but sleep function disabled - Windows 10

Since my laptop has upgraded to Windows 10 a few years ago, I've always had from what I recall the problem of finding my PC with an unresponsive black screen upon waking it from a long sleep. Fortunately, I was able to find a workaround by simply disabling the sleep function "When plugged in, PC goes to sleep in: Never".

However, a couple of months ago my laptop started experiencing this problem again when I leave my laptop on but plugged all night. In the morning, whatever I try move/click mouse, press shift, CTR, spacebar, etc., the black screen is unresponsive. The PC is responsive, however, as I can simply turn it off with the appropriate command Windows + X, U, U.

My mother, who also has a Windows 10 PC but desktop, no laptop, is experiencing the same issue. So I thought it was time to get some help. I've read other resources online but they're all about the PC going to sleep while it obviously isn't the issue here anymore. What can I do to fix this problem?

I updated my desktop this morning, Sep 14, 2016 and now my screen is blacked out and system is unresponsive

I did the Windows 10 update this morning (like I do every Wednesday morning) and now my system is down. The computer is on but the screen is solid black and unresponsive.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is anyone else experiencing problems after updating from last night?

I've tried the steps you suggested but they don't seem to work. The black screen I'm facing is only when i try to shut down or leave my PC to sleep and its completely unresponsive no cursor or anything. I've tried things others have suggested but they don't
seem to work, Is there anything else?

Disabling Black Out Screen or Sleep Mode in Windows 10

Is it possible to permanently disable the black out screen and lock out function in Windows 10?

I have already set all power/sleep/hibernate options to 'Never" for all settings (battery vs plugged in etc) but this does not prevent the laptop screen from going black and then locking (i.e. requiring me to use my pin) when I have simply stepped away from
the computer for just a few moments. This is infuriating. I have previously managed to alter this on other computers using the REGEDIT run command functions - is it possible to please have the details for how to amend this posted so that i can adjust the power
settings in the back end of the system?
