    Unsafe app !


    After turning on my Windows 10 laptop a message came up "unsafe app check Windows security". I waited why it did a quick scan then everything seemed to go back to normal. I realised one of my "Tiles" was missing but at first unsure which one ! I realised My Viddly downloader had been removed ! I reinstalled it but the same thing happened again ! Is the Viddly site safe and if not why has it taken so long to remove ? I don't think this has ever happened to me before I am normally careful what I download. Is it possible to put back safely ?Brian

    i save an app in internet and when i try to open it it shows it is unsafe file how to deactive it

    Hi Amit,

    With regards to your issue regarding what is perceived to be an unsafe app, can you provide us the following information?

    • What is the model of your phone?
    • What Windows version do you have on your phone?
    • What is the app that you were planning to download?

    Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

    This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Unsafe app ! :)

    In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

    At times, you may download a file from the Internet or receive one by email. Windows classifies certain files as unsafe downloads and attachments by identifying the files type and the security settings for each file. To unblock your file, follow the steps
    given below:

    • Right-click on your file.
    • Select Properties.
    • Make sure that you are on General tab.
    • In the Security option, you may see the message This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer. Click on
      Unblock button.

    Let us know if you have other concerns.
