    Unsigned .Dll files

I've got a reoccurring issue with my .dll files.

The issue is related to games on my PC that use EAC (Easy Anti Cheat), and every time I launch a game using EAC, I am prompted with Untrusted system file (C:\Windows\System32\a
random dll file). I thought the issue might have been related to one game, Apex. But on further attempts to fix the issue, I found that other games that use EAC were also throwing the same "untrusted
system file" error, and it's not always the same .dll file.

I have tried the generic SFC scan/repair commands but have had no luck, along with deleting/replacing dll files from system32.

Today I checked my system32 dll files by using CMD & sigcheck,
I have found that pretty much every .dll file scanned is marked Unsigned (Example shown below)

    Verified: Unsigned

    Link date: 2:27 PM 23/01/1917

    Publisher: n/a

    Company: Microsoft Corporation

    Description: Unicode Normalization DLL

    Product: Microsoft« Windows« Operating System

I have a support ticket opened through EAC, but their replies take days.

Any help is appreciated, here's hoping I don't need to re-install windows.

  3. Unsigned files in system32

I used sigcheck to check system32 earlier today and found that several .dll and .exe files were marked as unsigned. Most of these said that they were from Microsoft in their description. I googled it and it seems like some Microsoft files just aren't signed.
Does any one know why that is?

There were also three files that didn't seem to be related to Microsoft. The first was nvinitx.dll that couldn't build a certificate chain to a trusted root authority and seemed to be from Nvidia, and a .dll as well as a .exe that were unsigned and seemed
to be from Vulkan Runtime. I checked them all with VirusTool and they seemed safe, but is there any reason for them to not have a signature in that case?

    Thanks in advance,
    Oliver

Virtualbox won't start due to unsigned opengl32.dll

    Hello,

After updating to Windows 1903 I'm not able to run VMs in Virtualbox because I'm getting hardening errors:

    Code:
    00:00:01.218733 supR3HardenedErrorV: supR3HardenedScreenImage/LdrLoadDll: rc=VERR_LDRVI_NOT_SIGNED fImage=1 fProtect=0x0 fAccess=0x0 \Device\HarddiskVolume4\Windows\System32\opengl32.dll: Not signed.

00:00:01.218888 '\Device\HarddiskVolume4\Windows\System32\opengl32.dll' is most likely modified.

    00:00:01.219172 supR3HardenedErrorV: supR3HardenedMonitor_LdrLoadDll: rejecting 'C:\WINDOWS\system32/opengl32.dll' (C:\WINDOWS\system32/opengl32.dll): rcNt=0xc0000190

00:00:01.219321 OpenGL Error: failed to load dll C:\WINDOWS\system32/opengl32.dll

    00:00:01.219328 OpenGL Error: DLL Loader couldn't find/open C:\WINDOWS\system32/opengl32.dll

00:00:01.219344 OpenGL Error: The render SPU was unable to load the native OpenGL library

I verified opengl32.dll not beign signed with sigcheck:

    Code:
Sigcheck v2.72 - File version and signature viewer

    Copyright (C) 2004-2019 Mark Russinovich

    Sysinternals - www.sysinternals.com

    c:\windows\system32\opengl32.dll:

            Verified: Unsigned

            Link date: 03:48 04.02.2035

            Publisher: n/a

            Company: Microsoft Corporation

            Description: OpenGL Client DLL

            Product: Microsoft« Windows« Operating System

            File version: 10.0.18362.267 (WinBuild.160101.0800)

            MachineType: 64-bit
Is opengl32.dll supposed to be signed as Virtualbox assumes? Any ideas how I can fix that (besides fresh install)?

    I "successfully" ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

I also installed the latest GPU and chipset drivers, all windows updates I could as well as reinstalled the latest 3 versions of VirtualBox.

    My System:

    Windows 10 Pro, Version 1903 (Build 18362.295)

    Desktop

    CPU: Ryzen 7 1700X

    Mainboard: X370

    GPU: Geforce GTX 1080Ti

    Thank you
