Windows 10: Unusual Laptop Issue: Profile Picture Missing, Desktop Files Disappeared, Microsoft Account...

I encountered a strange problem with my laptop recently. When I started it up, my profile picture had disappeared, and the login screen displayed the default Windows wallpaper in a light version. When I logged in, all my desktop files were gone, and the wallpaper remained the same as the login screen. During this issue, the Recycle Bin icon showed that it was full, but I left it and the other folders unchecked whether they had the files or not. Microsoft account profile picture

I changed my Microsoft account profile picture yesterday afternoon, my account is set to sync because before changing my account picture it was the previous one that was synced. So now it’s still the old Microsoft account picture, the store and apps show the new one but the account picture didn’t change and when I add a email account in mail, the icon is the old profile picture... so it’s like it did a 10% sync ... how long before I see the complete changes or sync.

 

files missing from USER folder - Desktop, Mydocuments, pictures are all empty

post a patch update on windows 10, having issues with login ("We can't sign into your account") and missing files. login issue was fixed by editing the regedit - user profile.

however, still not able to track the missing files. the C Drive size remains intact. but no files found in folders - desktop, music, pictures, documents

other than backup restore option, please suggest a solution.
