Windows 10: Unusually slow internet connection only on Windows 10 system

Hello,

I need some help identifying why the connection on my Windows 10 system is suddenly experiencing significantly below 1mbps speeds, often completely failing to load webpages. Here are some notes and troubleshooting steps I've taken so far.


Observations:

- Problem persists across main browser (chrome) as well as firefox and edge.

- Problem persists in other programs (Steam, Discord, etc).

- Not experiencing unusual or excessive cpu, memory, disk, or network load.


Troubleshooting steps taken:

- Restart computer

- Tried other browsers and disabling browser extensions

- Run CCleaner

- Checked for any viruses (with Malwarebytes, Avast, and Windows Defender). No problems found.


Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

WIN10 internet SLOW!!!!!!!

• Have you tried connecting to some other Internet connection and check if the same issue occurs?

We suggest you to connect your system to some other network and check if the same slow Internet connection issue persists. If no then there must be issue with your Internet connection.

Windows 10 on Asus Slow

Provide us additional information to assist you better with this issue:

• What is the make and model of your device?
• When exactly does the system slow performance issue persists?
• Does the issue confined while performing any specific task on Windows 10?
• Have you installed all the pending Windows Updates and driver updates after upgrading to Windows 10?

I suggest you to try the below troubleshooting steps and check it if helps.

Step 1: Run the System maintenance troubleshooter.

System Maintenance troubleshooter finds and clean up unused files and shortcuts and performs maintenance tasks.

• Press Windows key and type Troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting and hit Enter.
• Click on View all in the left pane of the window.
• Select System Maintenance.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates after upgrade to Windows 10.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Upgrading to Windows 10 from windows 7 and losing internet connection

A couple of days ago I upgraded my desktop to windows 10 after getting one of those MS prompts. However now I cannot access the internet and suspect the drivers from the Gigabyte GA-MA790X-ud4 motherboard does not support the internet drivers required. Searching the manufacturers website has not given me any joy either. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
