    UNWANTED "price peep" program that seems to have crept onto Win10


    About a week or so ago, I noticed a popup when I load Safari on my Windows 10 machine. The message says...

    Safari can't verify the identify of the website "static.pricepeep00.pricepeep.net". The certificate for the website is invalid. I then get a choice of 3 options, Continue, Cancel, or Show certificate.

    If this is a program on my computer, I can't find any way to remove it. The popup occurs no matter what website I'm trying to open. I searched for ways to remove it, but they all seem to be scams that will cost money. While I don't mind spending a few nickels, I've tried similar options in the past with bad results.

    Any one know how I can remove this program?

    I'm in the process of running the MS Malicious Software Removal Tool which may solve this problem. If I do need a anti-virus program that will remove this popup, can anyone recommend the best one to use.

    That's quite an old adware browser extension , usually added when you install something and don't watch what you agree to when doing it.

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware can remove this (just download the free for home use version) Malwarebytes | Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium

    My original thread starter didn't fully explain setup. I'm running an Apple iMac with part of it running Windows 10 via bootcamp. The "PricePeep" problem was only on the MS partition. After seeing you reply, I did successfully run the first "malware" buster and it did cleanup the "pricepeep" problem which is a real piece of CRAPWARE" to say the least. It made my Windows10 unusable.

    I assume some website I was on installed pricepeep without my knowledge. Until it made my Windows unusable, I started to notice ads appearing on webpages of products I looked at previously, probably caused by pricepeep.

    THANKS AGAIN. I was getting to the point where I was considering dumping Windows and either reinstalling it or reverting to my trusty copy of Windows 7.
