Windows 10: Unwanted tab

I've used Edge on a Windows 10 PC for a long time without any problem. I've now bought a new Windows 11 machine which has Edge version Version 120.0.2210.61 Official build 64-bit. Every time the PC is woken from sleep an extra tab has been opened on a microsoft.com webpage promoting a Microsoft offering. I close the tab but if the computer enters sleep again and is woken again the tab has re-appeared. Is this an Edge 'feature'? As far as I'm concerned this is an ad which my adblocker isn't stopping. If I can't stop it doing this I shall switch to Chrome

Firefox opens unwanted tabs from previous (closed) web pages.

IE8 did that kinda wierd stuff to me all the time. That's why I never will use IE again.

If you have a site popping up tabs or it crashes the auto recovery will bring those back up and the unwanted tabs and keep creating more of them!!!It did this to the point where 108 tabs were opened. I had to forcefully restart.

Did you seek advice from your antivirus provider (Avast, Baidu, McAfee, Norton, etc)?



Any new browser extensions that need to be disabled/removed?

Command line/tab

QUESTION/suggestion:
* Why not remember the last active tab?
For example, if you are on tab 2 and close the program, then run it again, for the program to open tab 2 again. But if the -tab X command-line option is used, then the program goes to X tab, regardless of last active tab.

Does that make sense?
