Up all night trying to get cloned disk to boot....

Initially tried to create image and restore using windows back up tool and ran into problems regarding location being efi and destination is bios or something along those lines after googling how to resolve got nowhere.

Instead Installed macrium and cloned from disk1 (hdd) to Disk 2 (sdd) i plan on keeping both with identical os boots for a very particular reason... so cant just unplug disk 1 or format it to avoid any conflictions both need to be working.

So with both Disk1 and Disk 2 now looking identical in Disk management ... i restart pc and run into a bsod with the error code 0xc000000e i have tried all the usual things that have been suggested with most of them resulting in errors or being unable to carry out the task.

Without going into specific details there is something special about the OS boot i have on disk 1 that i need to replicate and need both to be bootable... i

But really need to get My Os thats on Disk 1 onto Disk 2.

here is a picture of how its currently looking in disk management ive even renamed the OS incase it was causing any conflictions.

    Thanks for any help given.

    :)

  2. Cloned WIN10/64 Boot drive will not Boot! Boot volume stays OFFLINE

Rather than using the Macrium Reflect cloning process, I have had better success with this method:

    1. Create an image of the old disk. Park it on an external disk.
    2. Create a Macrium Reflect USB rescue disk.
    3. Disconnect the old disk, connect the new disk.
    4. Boot the machine with the USB rescue disk.
    5. Restore the image onto the new disk.
    6. Boot the machine with only the new disk connected.

How do I label the partition 1? Not possible via the Disk Management tool. You can see the

OK, I will try doing so with diskpart command line tool. That step was missing in the instructions above.

    I made the Disk 0 part 1 = K

Does this look right before I run it?

Cloned Upgrade SSD does not boot in Windows 10

I recently cloned a GPT hard disk with Macrium Reflect like so:

    1. Create an image of the whole disk (i.e. include all partitions).
    2. Use the rescue disk to restore the image to the new disk.

      Windows would not boot.
    3. Use a bootable Windows Repair flash disk to boot the machine into Windows Repair Mode.

The command RecoveryDrive.exe will create such a disk on a live Windows PC.
    4. Get Repair Mode to repair the boot-up process.

The Repair Mode reported that it was unable to repair the installation.
    5. Reboot normally. All was well!
