Windows 10: UP GRADED WINDOWS FROM 8.1 TO WINDOWS 10 PRO EDITION

I UP GRADED MY LAP TOP FROM 8.1 TO 10. I WAS GIVEN INSTRCUCITONS AFTER THE INSTALL WAS COMPLETED. TO PERFORM A DISK CLEAN UP, WAS TOLD IT WILL ASK IF YOU WANT TO CLEAN UP PREVIOUS VERISONS OF WINDOWS, WHICH REMOVED OR CLEANED UP 19 GIGS OF DISK SPACE. IF I UNDER STAND CORRECTLY. NOW IF I USE THE RECOVERY PORTION OF MY LAPTOP IF NEEDED. MY LAP TOP WILL NOT REVERT BACK TO WINDOW 8.1, SO NOW I THINK MY RECOVERY PORTION DRIVE IS NOW WINDOWS 10. I HAVE YET TO CREATE RECOVERY DISKS, AND THE PORTION DRIVE FOR RECOVERY IS FRAGMENTED. THIS IS MY QUESTION, FOR THERE ARE MANY ANSWERS TO THIS ISSUE. SHOULD I DEFRAG MY RECOVERY PORTION DRIVE BEFORE CREATING MY RECOVERY DISKS OR SHOULD I CREATE THIS DISKS AND NOT DEFREAG MY RECOVERY DRIVE. IS THE RECOVERY DRIVE GOOD EVEN WITH THE WINDOW 10 UP GRADE.????
