Windows 10: Up to date vs feature update

Discus and support Up to date vs feature update in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; can anyone explain why my windows update says "you're up to date", but then immediately below that says "Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004....     Up to date vs feature update


    can anyone explain why my windows update says "you're up to date", but then immediately below that says "Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004. The next version of Windows is available...Download and install". To me these are two conflicting things. how can i be "up to date" if there is an "update" available for download and installation?

    Intel E5200 Gets Updated, R0 Stepping Coming Up

    Intel's Pentium Dual-Core E5200 processor is getting on course for a specifications update. The chip will feature in a new, improved Wolfdale-2M core, spec'd out as the R0 stepping, from its current M0 stepping. The new stepping is intended to add new instructions, power-management features, and bring about changes in the chip-package. A short list of known changes is as follows:
    • CPUID changed from 10677 to 1067A
    • Power State Indicator (PSI) support with Intel 4 series chipsets
    • New instructions - XSAVE and XRSTOR
    • New S-spec and MM numbers
    • New halide-free chip package
    Due to the changed CPUID, users may require BIOS updates to detect the CPU. According to the company, E5200 R0 should be out by April 13.

    As the above description is not clear provide additional information to assist you better with this issue:

    • Are you referring to Office Outlook (Mail client version)/ Mail app/ Windows Live Mail?
    • What is the complete error message/ error code of this issue?
    • What is the exact issues you are facing?
    • What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue?

    If you are referring to Windows Mail app, let us try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

    Step 1: I suggest you to check if there are any updates for Mail app in Windows Store. If found try to update the app.

    Step 2: I suggest you to run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter,
    troubleshoots problems that may prevent Windows Store Apps from working correctly.

    Refer: Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps

    Step 3: I suggest you to check with the system Date, time and Time zone
    is set correct.

    Follow the steps to set the date and time:

    • Type Date and Time in the search bar.
    • Click Change date and time button.
    • Click Apply and Ok to save the date and time.
    Note: Click on the Time Zone tab to check the Time Zone.

    Up to date vs feature update

    Intel Updates Core 2 Quad Q9550 to E-0 Stepping

    We continue our Monday news list with another Intel story that brings to our attention information concerning the company and more specificly its 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 chips that will move from the current C-1 to the newer E-0 stepping. The updated chips will start selling on August 22nd, featuring the following changes:
    • New SSpec and MM numbers for the converting products
    • CPUID will change from 0x10677 to 0x1067A
    • Package change to Halide free package
    Apart from that, the new stepping CPUs will not include any other changes. Of course, like most new stepping parts a BIOS update will be needed.
