Ok Edwin now throw Macriums PE recovery environment on and I'll go from totally impressed to in awe*Smile.

 

Here is a screenshoot of grub customizer. I will be upgrading from the windows 10 preview to windows 10 release. No key or proof needed for a previous version. The reason for me need to delay, is if you don't disable grub, new builds will not install at least on my system. Microsoft can't fix that issue that a grub issue. I have an easier way to restore grub using a grub boot cd.









If anyone is interested Xubuntu is on /dev/sda5 and the swap is on /dev/sda6 both are logical partitions. I avoided the windows 10, 7 system reserves partition creation but doing some tricks.

 

I thought the feedback app will be open to consumer just as well as the insiders. Insiders will be able to re-install the hub though.

 

I may have to give that a shot! Can you accomplish that with the free version?

Windows System Image worked; I have yet to try Macrium.

 

I have been reading some of this news articles comments various sites, some still don't believe it will be a legal licensed version if you upgrade from insider preview to windows 10 rtm. They are still thinking you have to a key or a previous version. At least we know better.

 

First,, don't trust another source than MS.. there are always MS haters that will stir things up.

Awesome they finally clarified this, was beginning to wonder if I needed to another 7 build or not.

 

So show me where I get it free and DON'T need a product key to activate the update. I seem to recall a thread a few weeks ago where Gabe said you'd need a valid key to activate.

I guess I need your decoder ring to figure it out.
