Windows 10: Update and restart will not work

    Update and restart will not work


    So ive had a issue for a while now where pressing "update and restart" or even "shutdown" or any of the other options will not work whatsoever, also if i open setting and go to the update page it just indefinitely loads, now my taskbar is just blank as well what can i do to fix these problems?

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it
