    Windows forcibly downloads and installs an update.Windows demands permission to restart.Click on 'update and shutdown' through the power menu.Computer ignores the user instruction.Computer updates and restarts.I'd like to eliminate step 4 in the process.

    if you been notified that there's updates just go to shutdown the system and you should get a option to update and shutdown the system after updates.

    PC is Suffering Unexpected Shutdowns

    Most important detail to me would be whether these shutdowns are sudden, in which case it's likely a short or PSU issue (capacitor aging maybe?) or graceful windows style shutdowns, which suggests software interference.

    It could also be overheating components if it's a sudden shutdown. What are your thermals like?

    Hi,

    To create shutdown button shortcut, kindly follow these steps.



    • Right-click on the desktop, select New and then choose Shortcut.
    • In the shortcut location box, enter the command for shutdown shutdown.exe -s -t 00.
    • Click Next, then type the name of this shortcut.
    • Click Finish.
    • Right-click the shortcut on the desktop, then select Pin to taskbar.
