Windows 10: Update Assistant will not update my PC to the latest version of Windows 10

Since my Settings fails to load, I try using the Update Assistant to update to the latest version of Windows 10. Every time the update says it is ready and I restart accordingly, it restarts and shows the blue screen with the progress of the update as normal; however, after some time, the screen goes black and shows "Undoing changes made to your computer" with the loading sign, and then starts the laptop as usual, having notupdated to the latest version.


I am unaware of what could be prompting the changes being "undone", as my computer is plugged in and so on. I would love a technical solution to the problem if anyone could help.

Windows 10 Update

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

 

Windows 10 Anniversary Update Issues

Wow I just updated my Windows 10 to this latest version of 10 (it did it itself) and its so much slower! and again open GL is broken....This OS just gets better and better....
