Windows updates are not updating but says it's up to date

When I checked my updates in View updates, there are no updates listed but in settings it says my system is up to date,
This is on a 10049 updated from 10041, apart from this it works reasonably well.

 

win 10 pro build 10240 - update says up to date!!!

@robmar0se ... afraid you may be out of luck, so to say. This MS article indicates no more cumulative updates for 10240.

Suggest that you get the ISO for build 10586 or 15063 and upgrade your system to a newer build. The one you have now is the original, and except for Defender and crucial security updates, you will receive no more. Sorry.

Link for upgrading using Upgrade Assistant or MS Media Creation Tool.
The first option is Upgrade Assistant and second is used if you want to create a thumb drive or DVD.

Your case, the first would probably be easier.

Windows 10 Home edition - security updates

We use normal windows licenses on some of our machines. When windows update assistant comes on (which we can't stop anymore as of Windows-As-A-Service), it wants a security update installed. It doesn't turn back on without user interaction currently which we can't do.

We want the following flow if possible. A few solutions we've found works for units on our internal network, or a windows server or enterprise editions instead of home edition.

1. Go onto computer with teamviewer
   
2. Say "please update"
   
3. It restarts, installs updates, with no user interaction whatsoever, restarts again
   
4. Logs back in normally.
   

But it doesn't seem to happen this way, always sticks on the 3rd step.

EDIT: the problem is that even upon successful update, it asks to accept license before actually starting.
