Windows 10: Update BIOS caused my PIN to become invalid, unable to recover due to no code received

I just updated my motherboard's BIOS and my PIN to login to Windows 11 has became invalid, I tried to reset my PIN as told by the login screen, but when I tried to receive a verification code via text message, the SMS never arrived.I can't access account.live.com/proofs/marklost, because it will ask me for a verification code, which, again, I'd never receive.I tried to go in to my Microsoft account to check and possibly change my phone number It shows that I have no phone number registered, but oddly, I do receive the verification code in SMS when requesting it from account.microsoft.com,

Can't log in to windows after a BIOS update, due to phonenumber change and PIN reset

Hi,

This is what happened:

• My HP Omen 15 did a BIOS update (through windows updater).
  
• After the BIOS update I had to reset my password.
  
  (it gave me the following message: Your PIN is no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device. Click to set up your PIN again)
  
• In order to reset my password I had to log in to my Microsoft account
  
• After logging in it needs to send me a code via SMS
  

So far so good...

• Turns out the phone number I have set up was my old one
  
• I changed the old phonenumber to send the code to
  
• Now I have to wait a month for Microsoft to process the change in phonenumber
  
• Because I have to wait a month for them to process the change in phonenumber, I now can't re-setup my PIN, which means I can't use my laptop for a month
  

Is there any way to speed up the process of changing my phonenumber?
I have a second email setup, is there a way to send the code there instead of to my phone?

Asrock Released new BIOS update for (Sky-kaby lake) to fix Hyper-Threading bug

No they didn't. The Micro-Code update was released by Intel back in May.

Of the 20 Z270 motherboards listed on MSI's website, only 15 have even received BIOSes with the Micro-Code update to fix the issue. And all the updated BIOSes were released within the last month.

Of the 20 Z170 motherboards listed on MSI's website, none have received a BIOS with the Micro-Code update.

Of the 22 H270/B250 motherboard listed on MSI's website, a whole 4 have received a BIOS with the update. Again, all the updated BIOSes have come out the past month as well.

You want to guess how many of the 35 H170/B150/H110 motherboards have an updated BIOS available? One...

 

Unable to set up PIN

There can be many reasons why you are unable to set up a PIN on your device. One of these is due to corrupted system files. For us to properly figure out what's causing this error, we'd like to confirm the following information:
