Windows 10: Update completely ruined my Search Index, even reinstalling windows doesn't work.

Several weeks ago i updated Windows and realized my Search Indexing wasn't working, so i went to rebuild the index and i get this.

I can't rebuild the index and i can't even change the path to an actual path.


Windows Service won't start, I have done literally everything even reinstalling windows. Nothing works at all. Ever since that stupid update the search index has been completely destroyed.

This user appears to be having the same problem as me but i don't understand what he means by ''blowing up the index'' and I really do not have a lot of computer knowledge.


Can someone please help me?

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type Services.msc In the search box.
• Select Windows Search
• Restart the services and set the service as Automatic

If the issue persist try performing Rebuilding Index again.

To rebuild the index follow the steps below:

• Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
• Open Indexing Options in the Control Panel.
  
• Select the Advanced button in the Indexing Options window.
• Select Rebuild in the Troubleshooting section of the Advanced Options window.
• Select OK when it asks if you’re sure you want to re-build the search index.

Latest windows updates : indexing seems to never complete

Windows indexing provides you faster search results. In case Windows Indexing does not complete, you can rebuild the search index. You may refer to the steps below:

• Open the Control Panel (icons view).
• Click on the Indexing Options icon, and close the Control Panel.
• Click on the Advanced button.
• In the Index Settings tab, click on the Rebuild button under Troubleshooting.
• Click OK to confirm.
• Indexing will now be in progress.
• When indexing has completed, click on Close.

If rebuilding search index does not work, click Troubleshoot search and indexing
to find and fix problems with your indexing.
