Windows 10: update error 0x8007018c on KB5055627

Happened previously, system unable to install this specific update. I rebooted system. retried update and got same error. System specs:AMD 5900X, 32GB DDR4/3600 memory, 2TB WD Black SN850X, 923MB free space. No issues reported with virus scan Bitdefender Total Security Build 27.0.35.147. Check of Windows system files indicates no out-of-date apps, etc. This is the 2nd update that has failed with this same code.

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
