    Error 0x80240438 when checking for updates

    Hello.

    I cannot check for updates in Windows 10 9926. I get the error 0x80240438. I already tried disabling my antivirus, didn't help.

    Windows defender update error. Error code: 0x80240438

    I've been unable to update windows defender, Windows update doesn't work either. the error message suggests that windows defender is unable to connect to the internet even tho i'm online. Please how do i resolve this update issues? thank you.

    0x80240438 error upon downloading from Microsoft Store

    Was going to install the Windows Subsystem for Linux. The install of the WSL went OK, however upon downloading any app from the Microsoft Store, including the Linux distro packages, I receive an 0x80240438 error. Tested with other distros as well as the
    Windows Terminal preview, all with the same 0x80240438 error.

    I have attempted the following:

    • WSReset.exe
    • Windows Store apps Troubleshooter

    Windows 10 version 1903, build 19362.175
