Update error 0xc1900209--Need to uninstall unfindable software

I'm currently running Windows 10. Every time I get an upgrade notification, I try the upgrade and always get the message that I have to uninstall Roxio Backup My PC. I've tried everything I can to locate and uninstall this software, and no program finds it. The Microsoft Store staff says they can do it, but they'd have to wipe everything off my hard drive, which I'm definitely unwilling to do. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    :)

    Windows 10 update error 0xc1900209

I am getting this error, 0xc1900209, every time I try to run the latest Windows 10 update. It says that I need to uninstall Trend Micro 2016 but the problem is I cannot uninstall the program. It is not listed in the Apps or
the Start Menu. How do I uninstall a program that I cannot find?

Hi, Have you searched for a cleanup tool or uninstaller specific to this? I had a quick look, but didn't find one. Have you ever had it installed - or any Roxio product?

You could install the program, then uninstall it with (e.g.) Revo uninstaller.

If it was uninstalled recently, you could use a restore point created before you uninstalled it, then uninstall it using Revo uninstaller or Geek uninstaller, which scan for leftovers. However, it sounds like that's unlikely to be so.

With a partly uninstalled program, I would normally try to point Revo uninstaller at any remaining exe files, and force uninstall using that. But that's only useful if you can actually find any related exe files.
If you had this program installed, you could try installing Ultrasearch, letting it index, and try a few searches for folders related to this. If you can find some exe's you can use the force uninstall method.

Another approach again using Revo is to see if it's still listed as an installed program (although I think you'd be very lucky). If so, you could then uninstall it with a scan for leftovers.

Beyond that, lacking exe's or a restore point, you're probably down to trying to remove entries from the registry, something I've had to do a couple of times over the years.
Whichever approach you use, back up before you do.
Regscanner (free) is a convenient way to search the complete registry for all matching entries found.
