Windows 10: Update Failed: 2019-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64-based System...

I have an issue with 15 workstations, all Windows 10 that won't install update: KB4476976. I have 8 Windows 10 workstations that I have been able to install these on with no problem. This has been a problem for a few weeks now. I have tried numerous things to resolve this issue but still unable to install.


On one workstation I have:


Checked the Servicing Stack Update (SSU) and it's up to date

Reset and Reregistered Windows Update Components

Check space on hard disk

Tried to install as a standalone


Version: 1809

Operating build is: 17763.253


I am using Windows Update Service across the business.


Any help would be gratefully received.

Windows 10 version 10.0.17763.195 not updating anymore since 2018-12 Cumulative Update, Troubleshooter failing to start

Hello everyone,

Since the 2018-12 Cumulative Update, my copy of Windows 10 Home fails to install even basic updates such as printer drivers, and furthermore the Troubleshooter fails to start with an error code 0x800706BA.

Every time I try to update I receive the following error codes:

2019-01 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.7.2 for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64 (KB4481031)

I have tried numerous fixes suggested in the forums, which mostly involved restarting some service, to no avail.

What do you suggest I try? Should I download a copy of Windows 10, make a bootable iso and repair the install?

 

2019-01 cumulative update for 1809 x64 fails with 0x800F0922 error


The January cumulative update for Windows 10 x64 v1809 (KB4480116) doesn't successfully install and the update rolls back on reboot. I install it via Windows Update, click the Restart button when it appears, the GUI shuts down and Windows briefly shows the blue screen saying "Configuring updates", which appears to be successful, and the machine then reboots. Before the login screen appears on reboot I see another blue screen saying the updates could not be applied and are being rolled back, then the machine automatically reboots again and I can then login. However, when Windows Update then re-installs the cumulative update, on the next reboot the process happens again (three times so far).

When I look at update history in Settings, it shows the 2019-01 cumulative update with "Last failed install attempt on ‎10/‎01/‎2019 - 0x800f0922", and the event in the system log for the failure shows

and the details tab for the event shows

I started an admin command prompt and ran Code:

After this I tried installing the update again, but it failed again with the same error.

Any suggestions on a fix for this?

 

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.
