    Update failed in windows 10 home 1909 OS Build 18363.592


    I have been trying to update windows 10 home every month since Feb 2020 and all updates are failing. I have also tried to use the update catalog to manually download the updates and install them. It proceeds till end then I get a message update failed. I tried this from feb till August and similar error shows up.


    I tried the resolutions as per the link 2020-02 Update failures


    I have also run SFC /scannow and no errors have been found


    I tried windows update to automatically updated and it has failed every month since feb for over 10 times.

    Feature update to windows 10, Version 2004 also is not installing and failed a few times.


    No abnormal errors have been found in event log as well

    No bandwidth control or advanced options have been setup


    Windows defender updates have been installed till the latest version of today


    Disk space is also not an issue as I have over 1TB space free


    I tried renaming the folder c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution to c:\SoftwareDistribution.old then rebooted and tried

    Received notice, on my computer, that I needed to take the free update to windows 10 before my current version expired.

    I updated, the whole OS on 02/23/2020. Specs:= 1909, 18363.657, Build 18363. I now CANNOT change my default browser identification. Microsoft Edge is set as default, surprise, and I can't seem to change it to anything else, e.g. Firefox

    Suggestions???
