    Hi I have windows 10 and have tried this update many times and it failed..I have done the Known Issue Rollback KIR”and it still failed..is there a patch to resolve this?thank you!

    ,,,and the update still failed. The fix suggested did not work. KB5031356 - Error 0x800f0922

    Any further suggestions appreciated.

    Problem with a windows update KB5031356 (windows 10)

    I have the same problem. I wasn't watching the install so I thought perhaps something might have happened during the install process. I reinstalled KB5031356 and still got the same problem, a BSOD stating Kernel security check failure on the first boot after installation of KB5031356 to windows 10. I have never seen that problem before installing KB5031356 so I am fairly certain it is caused by that fix. I restored my system back to a point 24 hours prior to the installation and won't be installing that update again until there is a real fix for the problem. I don't have the time to debug Microsoft's problem right now as I am very busy.

    Windows 10 fails to update


    When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

    Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

    I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
