Windows 10: update failed now won't boot.

Discus and support update failed now won't boot. in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Update decided was going to install window 10 v 1909 was on 1809.     update failed now won't boot.


    Update decided was going to install window 10 v 1909 was on 1809.


    Update failed and said was restoring previous settings 1809 however on reboot just got blinking cursor on screen.


    Downloaded Windows 10 to access recovery tools, tried all several times, restore, system file check, etc all fail to complete.


    Considered cutting my losses and doing a clean install but went to windows 10 from 7 when it was free, so don't have authentication code.


    Only option I seem to have at moment is to go back to XP.


    Using a old PC at moment running Vista.

    Maybe I Install a Windows 7 again, At least, all of my games run smoothly ...Sadness!!

    Windows 10 fails to update


    When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

    Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

    I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

    Applications won`t maximize

    Following a W10 update, applications only open as minimised on the taskbar and won`t maximize. I have tried closing them minimised but no good. Can anyone help ? thanks
