Windows 10: Update for Windows KB5036980 made my windows explorer navigation bar disappear

After update KB5036980 my windows explorer had no location box, back/forward buttons, or search box. This severely affected my workflow so I uninstalled the update. Obviously I tried restarting windows explorer to no effect. I could not find any option to turn it back on. The weirdest thing is it only affected my profile! Another profile on the same PC works fine. I don't have time to waste migrating to a new profile so I'm just going to pause updates for a while and hope a future one fixes the problem. Anyone else have this problem?

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer
