Windows 10: Update From Win 10 Version 1511

HiI am trying to udate my Dad's old Toshiba P300 Pro laptop to the latest Win 10 version, it was sold with Win 10 1511 installed. Windows update always crashed on reboot. I have checked drivers in device manager, Tried updating in Safe mode and clean boot, checked the memory, removed AVG anti virus, Used DISM to check disc, Restorehealth and SFC/scannow. HD 3850 AGP Code 43 Error on Windows 10 Anniversary Headache!!!

If the Version your using is still later than ver 1511 its designed not to work with AGP ( any AGP Support Removed )
and i do not know of any hack that will enable it to work

have you dug out that SSD and backed up your data and files that you need
That's the 1st Important Step.

Once you have done that you can wipe the drive and Reinstall
Version 1511 Build 10.0.10586
Then your in the Position of

I Would then Suggest you Lock it Down " No Updates no upgrading" and therefore no resumption of this Problem ( You might have to stop it going online )

Not Perfect but you end up with your System Running a Version of Win 10 ( as you must want ).

Ps once you get it working again as you want Image the Drive for Back up and restore.
Store back up off the PC

 

Windows 10 update error

I recently tried to update my Win 10 1511 (10586.713 ) to 1601 and after several restarts it arrived at the screen that covers the log in screen and then it restarts with the message " restoring previous version ".After it started , the updater displayed a message " failed to migrate user data after second boot". Any ideas?

 

Windows 10 upgrade and version 1511

I have win 8.1 and I know that it has downloaded to my c-drive Windows 10 upgrade. Is this downloaded upgrade today Windows 10 November version 1511? If so this means that I don't have to update it after the upgrade to version 1511 in second step?
