    Update from Windows 7 changes Firewall Settings?


    I've been finding computers on our network that have password protected sharing turned on suddenly. One of them just upgraded (automagically) to Windows 10. If that's going to happen, what are the "rules"?

    Another example, cross subnet File Sharing lost all of the subnet information.

    Windows 10 cannot connect to update

    I have exact problem. I have also upgraded from Window 7. In one of the forums there was a possible solution that the window's firewall does not allow the updates to deliver. I turned off firewall and tried to update. It worked. But after turning on the
    firewall the same problem persists.

    So now I have to manually turn off the firewall and do the update and then turn on the firewall which is like crazy thing to do.

    Please find a solution to this, would really appreciate

    Windows firewall VS Norton firewall?

    Now running windows 10 from win 7, 64 bit, Norton security protection. Have firewall question.

    Does it matter which firewall I use, is one better than the other? the reason I'm asking is when windows firewall is turned off, windows updates failed messages are received with error code:

    0x80073D0A

    I turn windows firewall back on and then the failed updates install properly. Therefore I'm thinking of turning off Norton firewall and using windows firewall until this is fixed. Please advise, thanks.
