It seems to be referring to the drive configuration, MBR or GPT. UEFI requires GPT, so are you installing by downloading or do you have an .iso?

What drive configuration do you currently have? A Disk Management picture would probably clear things up.

At this point the new build is not even starting to download. What I did was to install build 9879.. I then upgraded to 9926 from the ISO I have on my hard drive. And then I did the updates ,, and no luck on the update to 10041.

Are you in a situation where you could use Diskpart to clean the SSD or mSATA and then reinstall 9926? You would need to burn the .iso to a DVD or set up a USB flash drive and then copy over the contents of the .iso...

I am not sure what the download is seeing, but be aware the primary drive is the HDD and any install will try to use that unless the Bios is showing the SSD as primary.

Are you familiar with the UEFI configuration and installations?

Not really.. my gut feeling right now is that I'll go back to Win8.1 and wait for the final release and get Win10 then. I like testing but this is just nutty for me right now. Oh and I'll have to reinstall everything again when I do a hardware upgrade.. I'm getting a new motherboard and processor in April.

Well, you might try changing the second MSR partition back to a real MSR partition. You could do that one of two ways.

First use Diskpart to change the Type ID on the partition.

If you don't like that, you could delete the partition and then use Diskpart to recreate it in that same space. But as I mentioned, I am not sure exactly what about your install the download is having the problem with.

Maybe disconnect the HDD to see if that would make a difference.

It's not the download.. I fixed that issue by changing the path in the registry to FBL_impresive. Now the issue is "Securboot isn't configured correctly" I try to fix that in my BIOS but for some reason I can't.. it could be the MSI motherboard will not let me.

I didn't have to change anything in my registry, but I never made any prior changes in that area.

Check the Secure boot and see if the CSM is enabled and you are set to boot with UEFI devices. Secure Boot can be off or on, but you need the UEFI boot capable devices enabled. If you have a video card which does not have a UEFI bios, you may need to turn off Secure Boot (by enabling CSM), but different bioses have different settings for such things.

  12. Try disconnecting Disk 0.

    - I'm not sure why you have so many partitions marked recovery.

I've seen other machines with disk schema similar to yours, - couldn't wrap my head around their setup and the other member didn't know how it got that way, so I punted rather than go through a major change via the forum. Besides - I'm not sure what all OEMs are doing with Win8.1
FYI - the other machine that I tried to help with was a Toshiba laptop

    but.... try disconnecting disk 0

IT WORKED!! The issue was with.. The graphic card. When I removed it I was able to change the BIOS so I could secure boot and the rest of my issues went away. Everything is just fine.

    Thanks guys for you help!@!
