Windows 10: Update Issues Relating to VBox VirtualBox

I currently am using an HP ELITEX2 with a processor of "IntelR CoreTM M-5Y71 CPU @ 1.20 GHz 1.40 GHz" I have 8 GB ram, 7.88 GB is usable, my system type is "64-bit operating system, x64-based processor". I am using Windows 10 Pro version 1909. I am facing a difficulty in updating my laptop. Whilst I was Downloading and Installing Windows 10, version 22H2, a pop-up screen holding the name "Windows 10 Update", it showed up first when the update was installing at 23%, it told me to wait a few minutes. I did so and then came back to find it telling me to manually uninstall VirtualBox, which,

Hello,

The system finds VirtualBox and suggests to uninstall it manually, to run the update, but I am unable to find any app/program containing it. It's not shown in the Uninstall or Change the Program list. I do not have any Oracle installed on my PC either.

Thanks for the logs. It's still unclear whether the Error 80070002 is caused by corrupt Installer registry keys or something else.

Here are some suggestions:

1) Eliminate VBox services by running these commands from Admin Command Prompt:

• sc.exe delete VBoxNetAdp
  
• sc.exe delete VBoxNetLwf
  
• sc.exe delete VBoxSup
  
• sc.exe delete VBoxUSBMon
  

2) Reboot and then delete these files manually:

• %SystemRoot%\system32\DRIVERS\VBoxNetAdp6.sys
  
• %SystemRoot%\system32\DRIVERS\VBoxNetLwf.sys
  
• %SystemRoot%\system32\DRIVERS\VBoxSup.sys
  
• %SystemRoot%\system32\DRIVERS\VBoxUSBMon.sys
  

3) Download Driver Store Explorer and delete the Oracle Corporation Virtual Box driver packages.

4) Remove all traces of Virtual Box using Revo Uninstaller Pro Trial. (Reference)

5) Make sure that the services "Device Install Service" and "Device Setup Manager" are set to Manual start. Also, manually start the services to see if they're working correctly.

6) After restarting, see if you're able to install Virtual Box.

7) If nothing helps, please run a ProcMon trace of the VBox installation and upload the zipped PML log file.

 

BSOD's issues on VirtualBox

Since the OP situation is VirtualBox, we'll try to help there.

Here similar situation like yours; I'm on Fedora Xfce and no Vbox installed here either.
All OK on 5.11.16 on QEMU/KVM.

On Windows side I run Hyper-V.
