Windows 10: Update KB 5014019 has made all new taskbar icons blank, making just a space on the taskbar.

Yesterday I installed KB 5014019 and now many icons on the taskbar have been removed. When I try to re-pin Microsoft Store, Settings, Mail, Media player etc, they are in the taskbar but appear as a dark blank space. If I hover over the space it tells me what the icon is and I can launch the app. So I have a lot of empty spaces which do not display the usual colourful icon for any icons I choose to pin to the taskbar. Windows 11 will not allow me to uninstall this KB update either through the settings app, Control panel or Command prompt. It gives a message saying I need this update, and highli

This mode is simple and practical, just follow these steps to make it appear:

• Click on the Start menu, open the Control Panel and double-click on Sound and Audio Devices.

• In the window that opens, check the box Place a volume icon in the taskbar and click OK.

The sound icon will already appear in the taskbar. Another suggested method to activate the volume icon in the taskbar follows these steps:

1. Right, click on a blank space in the taskbar and from the pop-up menu select the Properties option.

2. In the Taskbar tab, in the Notification Area section, click on the Customize button.

3. In the new window, click on the link Activate or deactivate system icons that you find in the lower part of the window.

4. There, click on the menu adjacent to the Volume icon and make sure it is marked On. Click OK and then OK. Verify that the volume icon appears normally in the taskbar.

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

Removed Windows Store from taskbar, but blank space remains after removal

I wanted to remove the Windows Store icon from my Windows 10 taskbar, as I rarely need to visit the Store and I wanted to reclaim the space used by the Store icon on the taskbar.

When I right-clicked on the Store icon and selected "Unpin" as the option, the icon image disappeared but there remains a blank space where the icon used to be. If I add another application to the taskbar, it appears to the right of the blank space.

When I right-click on the blank space, the options shown are: "Store" (with the Store icon showing to the left), "Pin to taskbar" and "Close all windows". If I then click "Pin to taskbar", a new Windows Store icon appears in the taskbar to the left of the
blank space, but the blank space remains.

How do I get rid of the blank space? Is there a registry area where I can view all the entries used to populate the taskbar with added apps and where I might be able to isolate the entry for the blank space and delete it?
