Windows 10: Update KB3194496 = No internet !!!!!

I run 3 computers (all windows 10 - 2x 32 bit + 1x 64 bit)

On Friday update KB3194496 came on the scene. End result being that 2 computers operate with no problems, but the third has lost its internet connection.
The moment this update is applied, my network and sharing page shows a change from private to public, and despite every little workaround - it resolutely refuses to connect to the internet.
The moment that update is removed, all returns to normal. Any ideas chaps - have not seen any other reports of this problem so far. I like windows 10 - but everytime one of their huge updates arrive, there seems to be problems of various kinds reported by users.

Windows 10 update KB194496 disabled Wifi access to internet

Lenovo laptop did a Windows 10 update with KB3194496 last night/this morning. Afterwards the network/wifi said connected to AT&T router without internet access. However, the AT&T router said the Lenovo laptop was NOT connected. Two other PCs (a Windows
& HP desktop and a Windows 10 HP laptop) were listed as connected and had Internet access.

Rebooted the AT&T Uverse router, same thing.

When I uninstalled KB3194496 and rebooted the laptop connected correctly to the router and internet. What is the problem with KB3194496 that disables wifi internet on my Lenovo laptop?

 

Wi-Fi is on // No connection (after Windows Update)

On Oct 13 windows updated.

The update must've invited malware into my computer. I tried to run my antivirus after the update but it said there's no connection. Google chrome lost connection as well and then I got a pop-up saying that Windows Defender found and blocked a "Severe Trojan
threat". So I deleted it and I still don't have connection... (weirdly) the only thing that works is the Explorer app. I have internet; the Wi-Fi works just fine but, everything else doesn't connect. It's something internal that must be causing
the problem and it all started after the update.

P.S.

It also changed my network from private to public so I had to fix that.

And YES, I did allow these programs through the Firewall so that's not the problem.

 

my suggestion: Uninstall KB3194496 and re-install it again.

 

Which computer is showing the problem, 32-bit or 64-bit? Are they all Home, Pro or a mix of editions? You've also double-posted in the Network and Sharing section.

 

1 x Windows 10 64 bit Pro = OK
1 x Windows 10 32 bit Home Edition = OK

A second windows 10 32 bit home edition PC is the one giving the problem.
