Windows 10: Update KB5001330 stopped USB headset working migration issue.

I have a Plantronics BTM300 USB Headset which has stopped working following the KB5001330 update in mid-April. After uninstalling the updated it worked again. Is there a permanent fix for this in the next update?Thanks,

• What is the KB number of Windows update?

Check whether that update has any connection with this headset. If that update is related to this headset then I suggest you to uninstall that temporarily and check if it helps. If the issue resolves after uninstall the update then I suggest you to temporarily
block that driver. Sometime the Microsoft hardware driver update have clashes.


If the issue is not occurring due to the Windows updates then try the steps.

Run the Hardware Devices troubleshooter.

An automated troubleshooter is a tool that can find and automatically fix some problems with your computer. These troubleshooters aren't designed to fix every problem, but they're a useful tool to try because they can often save
your time and effort.

1.
Press “Windows Logo” + “W” keys from the keyboard.

2.
Type “Troubleshooting” in the search bar and press
“Enter”.

In the“Troubleshooting”
window, click on “View All” on the left pane.

Click on “Hardware and Devices"

Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Try using the USB headset on a different USB port and check. Try using the headset on a different computer and check if the issue persists.

Sennheiser GSP 350. Microphone stops working when I open any game

Wow, ok. I think I've fixed it by accident while fiddling around.

It appears to be the Realtek audio being the issue here. I don't use my onboard sound card as my headset is a USB headset only and my speakers are plugged into an ASUS sound card.

Step by step fix:

• I went into recording devices
• I enabled STEREO MIX (Realtek High Definition Audio)
• Then I set that Stereo Mix as the DEFAULT DEVICE (At this point it took over both input and output devices without my permission )
• Then set my Sennheiser headset as default recording and playback devices in their respective windows even though they both still said they were the default devices when they weren't

Headset microphone is currently functioning while in game now. I'll update the thread if it goes again. Should I completely disable Realtek audio??? Or will windows just force it to work again?

 

Creators Update - USB Headset No Longer Working

After installing Creators Update, my HyperX Cloud II gaming headset has stopped working. It does not seem to be detected at all in my device manager.

I've already tried the following:

• Test on another computer running Windows 10 (but not Creators Update) - headset works fine.
• Troubleshooter - not detecting the device, nor any issues.
• Rebooting the PC.
• Trying multiple different USB ports on the PC.

What should I do next?
