  1. Update KB5004945 gets to 100% installation progress, then proceeds to throw an error

Edit: i forgot that this existed.I've tried to install this update like today but everytime it gets to 100% installation it just throws an error code 0x800f0984 and doesn't actually tell me why it couldn't install. I'm trying to get this installed on my system quickly considering it's a zero-day fix for the PrintNightmare. Any suggestions?

    :)

  2. Error 1500 The installation cannot proceed as there is another installation in progress.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community, and thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

I do appreciate your efforts and time, and will assist you with the issue.

To guide you in the right direction, I need more information from the computer by answering the following questions:

    • How long have you been experiencing this problem?

    • Have you recently installed or uninstalled any software or hardware?

Your reply is very important for us to ensure a proper resolution.

Meanwhile I suggest you to try the steps provided below and
    check if it helps.

    Method 1

    Perform a clean boot.

A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows
10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista. You may also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot.

    Clean Boot:

    Notes

    • You must log on to the computer as an administrator to be able to perform a clean boot.

    • Your computer may temporarily lose some functionality when you perform a clean boot. When you start the computer normally, the functionality returns. However, you may receive the original error message, or
experience the original behavior if the problem still exists.

    • If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We strongly recommend that you do not use the System Configuration utility to change the advanced
boot options on the computer unless a Microsoft support engineer directs you to do this. Doing this may make the computer unusable.
I suggest you to try the steps provided, in the link below in order to perform a clean boot on your computer.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists
please get back to us with the above information in order to assist you accordingly.

  3. Update installation error

I have tried installing with WUA Manager and it seemingly installed and just shut down the device with no notice. (instead of restarting). It did not announce update was not installed. I had to turn on with power button. And Update history does not list the update with no notification. In contrast, the WUMT does not shut down or restart. It just notifies after 100% installation process that update was not installed with an error. In update history, the update is listed FAILED (with error)

The lengthy process of Command prompt: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and even lengthier process of:
Windows Update Reset Tool > ResetWUEng did not help.(But I found out my product Key number which Best Buy refused to give me).

My next step would get live agent assistance from MS HELP department. Or just ditch the update.

    Hi Syed,

Thanks for your response. I have tried the clean boot suggestion as per your advice but that didnt help either.

I have been experiencing this issue since 07/09/15 and it all started since I installed office 365.

Anything, I try to install or update it says another installation in progress.

    Thanks
