I recently tried installing a Windows update KB5023706, build 22621.1413 for my Windows 11 PC. Upon restarting the computer and doing the remaining 5% of the installation in the morning before work, I found that my desktop was completely bricked after signing in and I was completely unable to do anything except open task manager. After logging in, nothing is on my taskbar and the desktop background + taskbar starts flashing to gray every second and then reappearing. Still nothing on my taskbar. I have to do a system restore every time this update installs because it does not function. It's v

  2. KB5023706 - Bug: To much space between taskbar icons

    Hi,

follwing system: Notebook running with Windows 11 Version 22H2 (Build 22621.1413), no touchdevice, used als workstation pc with external keyboard, mouse and two displays additional to internal nootbookdisplay.

After installing win update KB5023706 space between the taskbar icons become to much(screenshot). I found no solution, someone wrote that is caused by windows using touchdevice, but this option ist not visible in my seetings, so i cant deactivate it. Im not using any touchdevice.

So next step deinstallation from update KB5023706. After deinstallation icon spacing normal again. But yesterday windows was running an forced update of KB5023706. Now i have the bug again.

Is there any solution, or have a to avoid KB5023706 for ever? Hope someone can help me.

    PC bricks after Bios Update

Look in your manual. There's also a motherboard "jumper" that you can use to reset the BIOS to defaults.

Btw... This looks like the easiest way to Flash your BIOS... you don't have to do step 1, it's already done.

Here is the location of the jumper: JBAT 1 You should just be able to short the jumper, and wait about 1-2 minutes, to set the BIOS to defaults.

When resetting the BIOS turn the comp OFF, and the switch on the power supply, OFF. Leave the power supply plugged in. Hold the case power switch IN for about 4 seconds to discharge things like capacitors.
Then short the jumper or remove the battery.
