Windows 10: Update killed computer

My computer updated last night. I turned it on this morning and absolutely nothing works. It goes to the home screen and looks normal and all my icons are there, but clicking on them does absolutely nothing, nor will setting or anything else open up. What happened? This is absolutely pathetic and needs to be resolved immediately.I am not a computer guy. And definitely not a windows guy. I have no idea what version or anything this is nor how to find it. And I probably can’t figure it out since nothing on this machine works. If you’re gonna tell me to do something, I need a step by step guide

Windows update KILLED my computer

Hello,

Latests windows update killed my HP laptop. I have tried several suggested solutions from HP support, including BIOS reset, however I cannot get past the HP logo screen. ONCE it allowed me to get to BIOS screen, however BIOS reset never completed. Currently
after several power off/on hard boots, nothing has changed. VERY SLOWLY, now get to personal login screen, but never past that.....

WINDOWS needs to step up and PAY for repair!

I've read several questions/comments about this same issue, Windows killing computers.

Frankly I cannot afford to keep losing information (though this time I had been diligent with saving copies on HD).

I definitely cannot afford to keep buying a new computer!! My HP is 3 yrs old, I'm currently trying to solve the issue from my previous 7+ year Dell laptop.

Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And PS..... NO ONE WANTS MS EDGE.... worst browser EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What kind of speakers do you use and meaning it killed your speakers ? Maybe speaker connection is an issue, but most likely something with sound device settings or drivers. What exact steps have you tried. Anyone of filling in system specs here or listing them as it helps us more to help you.

 

No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.
