Windows 10: Update Manners

Yesterday I was scanning a long legal document. Windows thought it was time to upgrade itself. It gave me the option of restarting NOW or at 1:46PM. I chose the latter thinking I'd get another chance to delay things. Nope. At 1:46 PM scanning still going on, in the editing phase of a long Quora response and Windows stops everything and restarts itself to perform an upgrade. Is this a common approach?

Admittedly I normally use Ubuntu. However the PC came with Windows 10 and since the HP multifunction printer software suite installed so easily on Windows 10 and I've been too lazy to get it on to Ubuntu, I boot into W10 for scanning. The other thing I hate is the "just wait, configuring Windows" message when I shut down to boot back into Ubuntu. I don't want to wait. I think this is a perfect example of how the culture of "Microsoft Owns the Desktop" still pervades the company to this day.

what manner of virus is this??

its not a virus, there is no virus for s60 symbian 3rd edition platform.

it is most likely a software confliction, or youve installed warez, badly cracked application or games that will allways screw your phone up..

received it via bluetooth 2wks ago, and now my own contacts disappeared, even my contact groups, but when i get a call it shows me whose calling, so far its spreading, i have now seen this same virus on n93, n72 and 3250...

please does anyone have any iea how to remove this virus or at least get my contacts back.

In Settings, Update & Security is a place to specify when to install updates, usually the middle of the night, might check that.

 

Thank you Berton. It was really more of a rant than anything. I normally leave the PC in the Unbutu space and cause my own Windows update issues by only spending minimal time there. I'll check the settings though.
