Windows 10: Update Problems 24H2

So I have had this problem ever since I installed 24H2. It is this update: 2025-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems KB5058411 Install error - 0x800f081f. It will not install, it tells me to retry. So after reading other message boards I decided to reinstall Windows from scratch with the ISO, not keeping anything. This was in Feb. Then the March update came out and it would not install, so again I redid Windows. When it tried to update after the new install, it did not update, on a clean windows machine. So I downloaded a new ISO and reinstalled windows. Whe

There are no currently listed problems resetting version 24H2 of Windows 11 and no specific steps you need to perform, are you experiencing any problems with that insider build that is causing you to perform a Windows reset?

 

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
