Windows 10: Update screws up computer again. Paint 3D has hijacked my gaphic files and I cannot change...

Every time I try to open a graphic file (jpg for instance) it opens the file in Paint 3D. I reset the association and attempted to reset the default in settings/app, with no joy.


What the heck am I supposed to do to correct this?


Every time there is a Win10 update, I spend hours resetting things and get the program ready for prime time.

There have not been any changes to the app that I know of. Microsoft updates files automatically. They recently updated adobe flash player and defender but I didn't think that had anything to do with paint 3d. As far as which app I use when coloring,
I use the paint 3d app. I open a file on my computer that has the pictures. I have been doing this for a while now and all of a sudden, the fill-in option isn't there. That was one of the main things I used. I tried to run compatibility troubleshooting,
but I cannot find the file where the program is located. It does not appear on the list supplied to choose from. Do you still need a screenshot? The 'fill in' bucket is not on the list of paint brushed.

 

Importing Files in Paint 3D

• Can you send us a picture or list of available file types in Paint 3D?
• We're you able to import an .stl file in Paint 3D before?

My fbx files are Microsoft 3d paint files

Hi Joel,

You may follow the steps below and see if it works:

• In your search box, type Default apps settings.
• On the Default apps settings page, click on Choose default apps by file type.
• Under Choose default apps by file type screen, scroll down to .fbx and change Paint 3d to the Unity app installed on your computer.

Please check if it works.
