Windows 10: Update Software asked to use "Install Monitor" is this a safe program or a virus? It looks...

Hello,My grandmother was doing some windows updates via the download and update windows button and afterwards sent me a photo of one of the questions.I have tried googling the query and cant find an answer anywhere which leads me to think that perhaps this is some kind of virus, or perhaps its part of the windows software and just never gets a message.Since she 'enabled' it I have asked her not to use her laptop until we can find out more information as it looks really suspicious to me.Mostly because I have never heard of "Install Monitor" before.New Installation detectedWe recommend enablin

Win10 upgrade asking me to uninstall already-removed Acronis software

Nope - I was unaware of this tool. Sounds promising! I appreciate the suggestion. Reasonably safe to run in terms of not introducing new problems?

I ran the tool. It does not come up with any Acronis software in the list of installed programs. It asks if the product is not listed to enter the 32-digit product code. But I do not know from where I can obtain the 32-digit product code for Acronis True Image 2012.

Any further ideas?

Win10 upgrade asking me to uninstall already-removed Acronis software

As a former Acronis user I know that it can be exceedingly difficult to uninstall. Given that maybe a clean install would be better for you in the long run. FYI, I’m now a Macrium user and would never go back to Acronis.
