Windows 10: Update stuck on 89%

Discus and support Update stuck on 89% in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; I downloaded a windows update and while installing it. its stuck on 89% its been 3 hrs since it is struck.What should I do next ?...     Update stuck on 89%


    I downloaded a windows update and while installing it. its stuck on 89% its been 3 hrs since it is struck.What should I do next ?

    Windows update stucks at 89%.

    I have tried all of that. The Update Troubleshooter said problem solved. I have done the component update. It still sticks at 89%. I am running Windows 10 home and have not successfully updated for 14 months so its getting worrying.

    Are there any fixes which actually work?

    Windows 10 fails to update


    When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

    Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

    I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
