Windows 10: Update stuck on 96%

Update stuck on 96%. It doesn't move even after waiting a while. I've restarted and power cycles the PC several times. I can't get into windows to run any troubleshooters as it always goes back to the update screen. Is there anything I can do here. I have no way to create recovery media. It was working fine until I did windows update.Thank you

Windows stuck on 96% update

Windows stuck on updates 96% complete. Went through all the steps that was recommended still stuck. What do I do now?

Feature Update to Windows 10, version 1709 stuck at 96%

As the title of the topic suggests, the update is just stuck at 96%. This is the second time I'm trying to download this update. The first time it was stuck at 95% and now this.

Is there any other way to download this update. And also, how should I cancel the update cause as I'm writing this it is stuck. Or should I just wait it out for it to fail by itself?

EDIT: It got solved on its own. Will reopen a new thread if any new error occurs.

 

Defender Update KB2267602 stuck @ 96%

Hello All,

I am seeing all of my new computer setups failing to complete this update.

Security Intelligence Update for Windows Defender Antivirus - KB 2267602 (Version 1.309.445.0)

The Status immediately jumps to 96% and then is stuck.

I have attempted to work around it with no luck. Also the Cumulative update of 2020-01 for version 1909 is running. Not sure if they go hand in hand. I have attempted running the troubleshooter with no success.

Any suggestions.
