Windows 10: update to 1907 working on updates 0% since 8 am this morning pacific time

Discus and support update to 1907 working on updates 0% since 8 am this morning pacific time in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Trying to update a laptop to the 1907 build.     update to 1907 working on updates 0% since 8 am this morning pacific time


    Trying to update a laptop to the 1907 build. Used a thumb drive for it to download the installation last night but its literally been installing at 0% for 7 and a half hours now. Is this normal? thank you

    Intel Updates Core 2 Quad Q9550 to E-0 Stepping

    We continue our Monday news list with another Intel story that brings to our attention information concerning the company and more specificly its 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 chips that will move from the current C-1 to the newer E-0 stepping. The updated chips will start selling on August 22nd, featuring the following changes:
    • New SSpec and MM numbers for the converting products
    • CPUID will change from 0x10677 to 0x1067A
    • Package change to Halide free package
    Apart from that, the new stepping CPUs will not include any other changes. Of course, like most new stepping parts a BIOS update will be needed.

    Windows 8 failure configuring updates and reverting

    I agree 8 is awful! It's not for me though... I replaced a broken screen in a Win 8 laptop that was given to me and I am going to give it for free to someone that can't afford one so they can do homework at home. Yes I took it from 8 to 8.1 back on 10/09/2014. This is what I posted there...

    1. Step 1 should read to disable AUTOMATIC updates, not disable manual updates.

    2. KB2871398 should really read KB2871389

    I would like to say that KB2917499 may also be needed as it was in my case. I also had to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter after installing those 2 updates. After these steps I was able to begin my 8.1 download from the Microsoft store. I don't know if it made a difference or not, but I also went into the Bios and disabled "Secure Boot."
