Windows 10: Update to Version 1703 from 1607 wants accelerometerDLL.dll

Windows just updated my HP Laptop to Version 1703 from 1607 and just after the update I got a screen shown in the attachment. The update is says, "The code execution cannot proceed because accelerometerdll.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." Is this really needed and what do I do now?

Windows 10 Pro auto updates adding unwanted update to version 1607

PA Bear, in answer to your inquiry about the KB number. There is no KB number, it is a feature update to Windows 10 version 1607 from my current version of 1511. I believe this update is to go to the creators version 1703, which sounds like a worse set
of problems. It is the same computer as the Jan 31 thread. I am trying to avoid installing version 1607/1703. I still want to install other security updates for Microsoft Office and Windows but not version 1607/1703.

 

Update windows 10---Delete Windows.old or not?

I am recently update my laptop from 1607 version to 1703 version by windows update tool. that is good but in my C: drive there is a folder named Windows.old which is take 18 GB space. so what i do keep it in C: or in other drive or delete it. because i
don't want to downgrade my laptop from 1703 to 1607. if i am delete it then it will effect in my new version or no?

It seems this is an HP related issue, so you might want to check the HP forum and support.

Alternatively uninstall HP drive guard via the control panel.
Perform the upgrade.
After the upgrade go the HP web site: (software and drivers)
HP Software and Driver Downloads for HP Printers, Laptops, Desktops and More | HP® Customer Support

Enter your serial number or product number.
They are easily viewed if you you launch the HP support assistant.
Select the operating system.
Install the windows 10 approved drivers for your configuration.
If you post your product or serial number I can view the web site for you to find the driver/application

 

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook 17-g121wm and I have the HP 3D DriveGuard Software (HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection) installed in Windows 10 1703 (15063.332) and I have not had any issues with it. Here is the link for my specific software:

Click on Software Solutions near the bottom of the listed Software and Drivers.

You may need to uninstall and reinstall the HP 3D DriveGuard Software.

Check the HP website for you particular model.

 

JJG10 please post a link similar to tacit99. The HP drive guard has different requirements if you are using RAID. Are you using either hardware or software RAID?
