Windows 10: Update turned off option for pin

I did a Microsoft update and now it won’t let me enter a pin. I don’t recall ever using a password and I tried every password I could recall ever using and nothing works. I can’t seem to do anything to get my pin access back. It’s a local account and I am at a complete loss. Please help.

Since recent update KB3200970 I cannot use nor setup a PIN to sign in and MS Office2016 disappeared

Thank you for the update. We suggest for you to reset the login PIN. Here are the steps:

• Click on the Start Menu and select settings.
• Now select Accounts.
• Next select the tab Sign-in option.
• Click on I Forget the PIN and follow the on screen instructions.

Update us with the result.

To resolve this issue with your PIN, follow these step:

• Restart your computer first, then after that, open File Explorer and browse to this location:

C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC

• Delete everything within that folder.
• Go to Settings-> Accounts->Sign-in Options.
  
• Click Add a PIN again and set your PIN.
  
• PIN sign in should work going forward.

OSK PIN login on non-touch device

Hello,

I suggest you to create a PIN for your device and try the on screen keyboard to login to the same.

You may follow the steps below to create PIN protection for your device.

• 
  Go to Settings and select account.
  
• 
  Click on sign in option and Go to PIN option.
  
• 
  Now click on Add and set PIN for login.
  

You can use the same PIN to login to your device using the on screen Keyboard from ease of access option and verify the result.
