Windows 10: Update windows 10 20H2 10.0.19042.1348 to 21H2

I have tried every way to upgrade to 21H2, all of the suggestions on every site, forum and Windows help pages but the result is always the same, it will download and install until at 100% install I get the message "There were some problems installing updates, but we’ll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: 0x800f0831". This has happend on numerous occasions. I also get a message indicating that there may be a previous update and security 'patch' missing but everything that has been recommended via Updates ha

I'm also getting confused with all the different update types or when 21H2 becomes available to the general public (not Insiders). Jumping from Win7, it was generally just hotfixes and service packs back then. *chuckle

I received KB5007186 today via normal Windows Update but it did stay on 21H1.

21H2 is not GA yet, on 11/11/2021 still only for insiders.
It is available as optional update in insider Release Preview channel.
Also when in R.P. channel you get the new MS Store version which is the same used in Windows 11.
It is easy to back out of insider from R.P. after the updates are done.

(I've not had any such failures for a while!)

But that was with 21H2 enablement package installed (couple of weeks ago). I just got rid of it and am retrying...
