Windows 10: Update Windows 11 Version 23H2 KB5033375 Keeps Failing

I can't seem to figure out why Windows Update KB5033375 keeps failing, It keeps going into this loop each time it tries to install: Something didn't go as planned. No need to worry-undoing changes. Please keep your computer on. What logs can I refer to so I can research the error message. I only seem to have this issue with Cumulative Updates. I've already attempted to the following by creating a .bat file to troubleshoot: SC config trustedinstaller start=auto net stop bits net stop wuauserv net stop msiserver net stop cryptsvc net stop appidsvc Ren %Systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDi

Windows 11 keeps asking to restart after installing Update Version 23H2

I have Windows 11.



I installed: 2023-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5033375) but my machine was not stable and kept going to debugging mode. I had to do a restore point to a couple of days earlier.



Since then I keep getting the following message:



2023-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5033375) --Pending restart



I have restarted machine many times but it keeps asking to restart.



What should I do?

Good morning David.

I've tried all the steps that you suggested that I do, but still no positive results. I even initiated to create the CBS.log (attached). After restarting, it still continued to fail. Now it has an error of 0X800F0991. Windows update also is listing a download for a 23H2, which is NOT my system. I have a 22H2. So needless to say, this has become very frustrating to say the least.

Cannot install Windows 11 23H2

The build number 22631.2506 implies the device has been upgraded to 23H2 already.

Here are the version/build numbers for Windows 11.

• 22000.xxx is 21H2
  
• 22621.xxx is 22H2
  
• 22631.xxx is 23H2
