    Update won't get past the restart


    2024-08 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 KB5042099.Says "successfully update on 8/13/2024" but still says "restart required." Every time I try and do a restart, says something went wrong.I see others have had same issue on this forum but for some reason, the answers are "locked." I thought the idea was to have answers for all to get help?

    Windows updates won't install!

    I had the same problem when i repaired my O/S, i forgot the steps on how to fixed it, but it is in the microsoft support forum.

    You have to reinstall the windows updater, then restart the updating service.
