  1. Updated 8.1 to 10 - No network or graphics card. Reverted back.

I decided to update by Win8.1 PC to Windows 10. I need to update soon as I am moving to an area with only 1-4mb broadband so downloads will be slow.

Checked compatability- all showed fine. Downloaded iso and ran it. Installation went ok.

Started up got couple of errors, like :

This driver can't release to failure - OK

    - not especially helpful *really, or even grammatical. Then found no network connection at all, and graphics card not recognised, so only 1 monitor. Network adapator showed fine in devices and as working but no connection, and graphics card not showing in display adaptors.
Tried a few things but got nowhere, so after 90 minutes on Windws 10, I went back to Windows 8.1 and all was fine again. At least reverting back was smooth and quick. So relived to see good old 8.1 welcome again. Pc is less than a year old with decent spec from PC Specialist. mobo is Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming3 and graphics card is GTX 750 Ti , and all running up to date drivers.

Any ideas what I can do to make the upgrade work, when I'm brave/stupid enough to try again?

    :)

Can't connect to network after Windows 10 upgrade

I did the Win10 upgrade yesterday from 8.1 and could no longer connect to my home network. Just got a message "Can not connect to this network". My wireless card was recognized, drivers up to date, network recognized, connection to network attempted, but
    can't connect.

Couldn't find a solution yesterday, so I reverted to 8.1 and network connection worked just fine.

Today uninstalled and reinstalled wifi card and drivers and attempted the upgrade again. Same result. Now reverted back to 8.1 and network connection works fine. I want to upgrade to 10, but this is a big setback. Don't know how to fix this.

    My wireless card: Rosewill RNX-AC1200PCE

  3. NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M and Windows 10

    Hi.

I have tried all the updates, everything that i can think of and still have problems with the nvidia graphic card.

Each time windows 10 updates the driver or each time i update the driver and windows restarts, it gets a blue screen with the info:

    "VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL"

and then i have to restart in safe mode to uninstall the nvidia drivers in order to be able to boot correctly.

I have disabled the Nvidia Graphic Card under Device Management and am using the computer with the integrated intel graphic card.

That's the only way to keep the system stable.

I had given up on this.

Thinking on reverting back to windows 8.1........................
