Windows 10: Updated document not appearing in Windows Explorer recent list

I have one Excel spreadsheet which will not appear in my Windows Explorer recent files list no matter what I do to it. When I add it to my favourites it shows the date as 6th July 2024. No matter what I do to the document this date doesn't change. I am updating this document every week.What does this date represent? I cannot find it in any of the date fields of the extended properties. This is the only document I have this problem with. Other Excel sheets and other documents appear on the recent list after updating them just fine.I can add this one document to my favourites list as a work arou

How to find a list of Recent Documents in Windows 10

Hi,

Recent document option has been removed on Windows 10. Instead, on Windows 10 you have an option recent files. To access it, follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + E.
• Under File Explorer, select Quick access.
• Now, you will find a section Recent files which will display all the recently viewed files/documents.

you get the idea. ( too lazy to put it in a for loop and test it.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.

Windows 10 stores recent document lists in many places, it depends on the different application as to where that list is stored

What application are you trying to find recent documents for?

Also, in the meantime, open Windows File Explorer, on the left, click 'Quick Access' do you see the document(s) you are looking for listed there?
